My Brighter Future Employability Service
The My Brighter Future service supports young people in the Senior Phase of school and those who have left school up to age 19. Support is available up to age 24 if you are Care Experienced. We offer guidance, work‑based learning and qualifications to help you plan your next step.
Universal pathways
We offer two universal programmes for pupils in S4 to S6.
GradU8
GradU8 lets you study at college while still at school. You work towards a work‑based qualification at SCQF level 4 or 5 in a subject you may want to continue after leaving school.
Foundation Apprenticeship
If you are in S5 or S6, you can gain real work experience with local employers while studying for a qualification at SCQF level 6. This helps you build skills that employers value. Find out more about foundation apprenticeships.
Targeted support
ASPIRE Programme
ASPIRE offers one‑to‑one support if you are not yet ready to move into employment, training or further education. This support begins in your final six months of school and continues after you leave.
