Reactivating Activage
Published: Thursday 28 October 2021
A dedicated leisure and cultural membership for older people is about to be reactivated.
Activage provides South Lanarkshire residents aged 60 and over access to indoor leisure facilities including swimming and health suites. Membership also includes East Kilbride Ice Rink, cultural and libraries activities, golf courses and more.
Before lockdown in 2020, many Activage customers purchased their annual membership, which South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture then had to pause as all centres closed.
But, from 1 November, the memberships will be switched back on – and customers don’t have to do anything for them to be reactivated.
David Booth, General Manager of SLLC, said: “We have missed seeing our customers being active in our leisure centres and connecting with their friends.
“We reopened our centre doors in April this year, starting slowly with a handful of sites and activities, but since then we have grown and can now offer a wide range of Activage activities.
“Please be assured that safety is our main priority for our customers and staff. In line with COVID-19 guidelines, we continue to apply robust cleaning practices, including frequent cleaning of surfaces.
“I would like to thank all of our customers for their continued support and we can’t wait to see you all again soon. Please let as many of your family and friends know about memberships going live again from 1 November.”
Customers are reminded that they should continue to wear face coverings, except when taking part in an activity. Please also give other people plenty of room, and non-members will be required to sign in at reception using a QR code.
Anyone with questions can email SLLC. If you would prefer them to telephone you, just let them know and they will give you a call.
