Libraries across South Lanarkshire have a range of events planned to celebrate welcoming customers back.

Now in its tenth year, Book Week Scotland was initiated by the Scottish Government and is funded by the Scottish Library and Information Council. This year it runs from Monday 15 November to Sunday 21 November.

Chair of South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture, Councillor Peter Craig, said: “There are a fantastic number and range of events taking place at local libraries this year in support of Book Week Scotland.

“Libraries are a focal point for the community and following the pandemic I know our staff are desperate to see familiar and friendly faces again, as well as welcoming new customers.

“Have a look at the events that are taking place and if you are interested, please come along. 

“While you are there why not take advantage of the many services our libraries have to offer as well?”
