Make a difference by becoming a Children’s Hearing panel member
Published: Monday 28 August 2023

Children’s Hearings Scotland is looking for volunteers to help make a difference in your community.
CHS is now recruiting for volunteer Panel Members across the country to help support Scotland’s infants, children and young people.
Panel members should be enthusiastic people aged 18 and over who can show empathy, compassion and great listening skills.
Panel Members take part in children's hearings, listen and make legal decisions with and for infants, children and young people who have been referred to the Children’s Panel.
Volunteers ensure that the young person is at the heart of every decision made – because every decision, no matter how big or small, has an impact on the life of the child or young person in the hearing.
CHS offers a certificated training programme with a highly experienced team to support every volunteer’s development, helping you along your journey in becoming a panel member.
If you think you have what it takes to become a panel member, applications are being welcomed from Wednesday 30 August until midnight on Tuesday 3 October 2023.
