New Head of Housing Services appointed
Published: Monday 9 October 2023

Housing and Technical Resources has a new Head of Housing Services.
Sharon Egan replaced Annette Finnan, who retired in May this year after many years of service.
Sharon started her career with the council as a Modern Apprentice in July 1999 working in the Hamilton area. Since then, she has had a number of different roles within Housing and has worked across each of the area housing teams in South Lanarkshire, giving her in-depth knowledge and experience of each locality. During her career in Housing, Sharon sought opportunities to undertake professional development including her accredited qualifications.
On a personal note, Sharon loves 90’s boy band, Take That and never misses a concert and still regards one of her most memorable and funny moments as a Housing Officer, when a tenant named their goldfish after her!
Sharon is looking forward to this new challenging role and said: “I am delighted to be appointed as the new Head of Housing Services.
“I want to continue to support tenants and other customers by ensuring access to high quality housing, improving the lives of those living within our communities, while maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction.
“I also hope that I can encourage other young people to pursue a career within Housing Services and to seize the opportunities that I have had within the council.”
Welcome to the team Sharon.
