Grants are now available for social enterprises based in the South Lanarkshire area.
Up to £2,500 match funding is available for organisations, based on up to 50% of the overall cost. The funding can help to start-up and/or grow trading activity that will deliver a social and environmental impact.
If the project involves two or more organisations, and you are collaborating on the same project, the lead partner may apply for up to £7,500 match funding of 50% of the overall costs.
Chair of the council’s Community and Enterprise Resources Committee, Councillor Robert Brown, said: ‘Social enterprises are a significant part of many local communities and often do a really vital job.
“I would encourage social enterprise organisations to get in touch to see how this fund can help them.
“We want to hear from enterprising projects which support social enterprise business models to start, increase trading income and that fit with our Social Enterprise Strategy objectives.”
Morphfit Gentle Movement (pictured above), working with Healthy and Active East Kilbride (HAEK), received joint funding to extend their reach to an additional area and expand their existing programme. The funding will enable the consortium to increase income generation through increased capacity and further develop partnership working.
Clydesdale Community Initiatives (CCI) were awarded a small grant to purchase equipment for both Langloch Woodcraft and Langloch Tearoom Social Enterprises. CCI are seeking to grow with the aim of providing more placements to individuals experiencing the greatest health inequalities and to increase the income generation capacity of both social enterprises.
