St Ninian’s Primary School has been praised in an Education Scotland report following a visit by a team of HMIe inspectors.
The report stated that senior leaders at St Ninian’s Primary School make sure that there is positive relationships across the school and are achieving good levels of learning, teaching and assessing along with raising attainment and achievement throughout the school.
And with good support from staff, children are contributing effectively and developing their own skills in leadership, community engagement and increased participation in healthy living activities.
Senior leaders and teachers were also praised for “raising their attainment and reducing the poverty related attainment gap”.
Eileen Feeley, head teacher at the Hamilton primary school, said: “On behalf of the staff and entire school community, I am delighted with the findings of Education Scotland's report.
“It reflects our shared approach of a caring and supportive ethos and culture combined with a clear focus on raising attainment and achievement for all our learners. We will continue to work as a team to build on our strengths and improve.
“All the staff, pupils, their families and wider school community are very proud of our school. I know that their support and effort will ensure that St Ninian's is a place where everyone can grow, learn and succeed together.”
The report also recommended that senior leaders should continue to develop high-quality learning and teaching across the school and should work with staff to embed the learning and teaching policy to provide consistent teaching approaches throughout the school.
Carole McKenzie, the council’s Executive Director of Education, said: “Congratulations to Eileen Feeley for her leadership and to all the school staff, parents and families for their fantastic dedication and commitment which has clearly been highlighted in this HMIe report.
