Bringing warmth to those who need it most

More than 400 jackets have been donated to help those less fortunate during an annual appeal by South Lanarkshire Council.
The jackets are laundered and sorted by the council’s Social Work Unpaid Work Service before being redistributed to those who need them most.
Professor Soumen Sengupta, Director of Health and Social Care for South Lanarkshire, said: “We know this is a particularly challenging winter for many people and families right across our communities.
“That’s why I am delighted once again at the generosity of people from across South Lanarkshire who have went out of their way to contribute to our campaign.
“The commitment of our social care staff and professionalism of the Unpaid Work Service to ensure the jackets are washed and ready to be donated to those who need them has also been first-class.
“A huge thank you to everyone involved –the kindness of people and their willingness to help others is truly heart-warming.”
