Celebrate Dougie’s 50 years in music
Published: Wednesday 6 March 2024

Lanark Memorial Hall is once again calling one of Scotland’s most well-known and loved singer-songwriters home.
Dougie McLean, known the world over for his ode to his home country, Caledonia, will be playing at the hall from 7.30pm on Saturday 6 April.
Dougie’s inspired performances, songwriting and instrumental composition has seen him pick up two prestigious Tartan Clef Awards, a place in the Scottish Music Hall of Fame, a Lifetime Achievement Award from BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards and an OBE.
This year he celebrates his 50th year as a professional musician, with his songs having been covered over the years by artists as diverse as Paolo Nutini, Amy MacDonald, Ronan Keating, Mary Black, Frankie Miller, Cara Dillon, Kathy Mattea and many others.
Tickets for the gig, costing £22 or £20 for concessions, are available from the SLLC Box Office or by calling 01555 673 199.
