Former hall and library to be demolished
Published: Friday 8 March 2024
Preparations for demolition work will start next week on the former Ballgreen Hall and Library in Strathaven.
The demolition is expected to take around 14 weeks.
Security fencing will be put in place from Monday 11 March in advance of the site closing permanently on Monday 25 March.
While there will be gaps left for cars to get in/out of the informal car park in that two-week period, anyone using this area is encouraged to find alternative parking arrangements during this time, as the full site will remain permanently closed from Monday 25 March.
Alternative parking can be found in the Holm Street council car park.
Head of Enterprise and Sustainable Development, Alison Brown, said: “We would appreciate people’s patience while this work is being carried out, and please make sure you have parked elsewhere before the cutoff date of Monday 25 March.”
