Road improvements taking place in three phases
Published: Tuesday 12 March 2024
Essential repairs to a number of roads around the Pettinain/Hyndford Bridge area are to take place this month.
The work will take place in three phases to help minimise disruption.
Phase one will take place from Tuesday 19 March to Friday 22 March and will see the C29 Closed from Clyde Bridge to Pettinain Village.
Phase two will take place from Friday 22 March from 6pm to Sunday 24 March at 10pm, and will mean the A73 Hyndford Bridge to A73 Glentisset Junction will be closed.
Phase three will take place from Monday 25 March to Thursday 28 March and will see Pettinain Village to A73 Glentisset Junction closed.
No motor vehicles (except those engaged in the work and emergency service vehicles) will be able to park or drive on the roads during the works.
The signed diversion routes for phases one and three will utilise A73, Sherifflats Road, Boat Road, Covington Road, Grange Road and Eastfield Road.
The signed diversion route for the phase two closure will utilise the A73, B7078, A702 and A70.
Head of Roads, Transportation and Fleet Services, Colin Park, said: “We are aware of the disruption that these road closures will cause, but hope that the long-term benefits will be appreciated.
“Your patience and understanding during the short-term period of inevitable inconvenience would be much appreciated.”
