Healthy Valleys will continue to use a shop in Lanark as their base following agreement on a Community Asset Transfer.

The charity was granted a five-year lease to continue to use the unit in Smyllum Road.

The decision was agreed at a meeting of the Housing and Technical Resources Committee.

Chair of the council’s Housing and Technical Resources Committee, Councillor Davie McLachlan, said: “This longer lease will give Healthy Valleys more stability and certainty moving forward.

“I know they are a strong, well-established body with diverse community-focussed activities throughout the Clydesdale area.

“This will allow them to continue with their work to provide facilities, activities, and resources to protect mental and physical health education for local residents.”
