The Community Wish List is helping spread some cheer among young players at a football team from Rutherglen.
Fernhill Soccer School were looking for funding for kits, trophies, medals and equipment – with their wish granted by A M Phillip Trucktech Ltd.
Chairperson of the soccer school, Davy O’Neill, said: “The wish list funding at the time came in very handy, a lot of funding is limited but there are no restrictions on the wish list.
“We managed to put funding towards football kits and some equipment for storing footballs, we also got medals and trophies. One of the best things for me is seeing the young people’s faces when they get their medals.
“Fernhill soccer school can’t thank you enough.”
A spokesperson for A M Phillip Trucktech Ltd said: “We always look to support local communities whenever possible, and the Community Wish List provides us with a fantastic opportunity to do just that.
“We value the support that we receive from South Lanarkshire Council and are grateful for the chance to share our success with the people who need it most.”
The Community Wish List is supported by the council’s Community Engagement team.
Local community groups can submit a wish via the council website, by email, or by calling 0303 123 1017.
