Customers involved in improving housing services
Published: Friday 28 June 2024

The Customer Scrutiny Group (CSG) is involved in improving and developing housing services.
It is made up of customers who work in partnership with the council to undertake an annual programme of scrutiny activities.
It has been a busy year for the CSG who have carried out three scrutiny activities; management of void properties, the homelessness application process, and a mystery shopping exercise on reporting a repair. The CSG were supported throughout each activity by the South Lanarkshire Tenant Development Support Project (SLTDSP).
The CSG will meet with the Resource Management Team, Housing and Technical Resources in August to present their findings and recommendations from the three activities, following which, action plans will be agreed and progressed over the coming months.
Karen Blair, new member of the CSG, said: “We are so happy to be involved and give back to the community after being so well supported by South Lanarkshire Council in the past."
Long-standing CSG member, Mary Ann Patrick, said: “It’s a fantastic group to be a part of, where we’ve not only worked hard to support South Lanarkshire Council tenants, but we’ve also made good friends over the years with everyone."
We will update on the findings from the three activities later in the year along with details of the agreed customer scrutiny programme for 2024/25.
If you would like to get in involved in customer scrutiny or wider customer engagement activities, please email Hannah Beaton, Tenant Engagement and Support Officer.
