Overnight lane closures for road in Hamilton
Published: Monday 26 August 2024

Essential repairs to Palace Grounds Road in Hamilton will mean overnight lane closures at the start of next month.
The road, from its junction with Muir Street to the Motherwell roundabout, will have several lane closures to facilitate works from 8pm to 6am from Monday 2 September to Thursday 5 September.
This is essential maintenance work and consists of the application of an asphalt preservative and relining works and builds upon significant patching repairs undertaken earlier this year. This preservation technique will extend the life of the road.
Head of Roads, Transportation and Fleet Services, Colin Park, said: “This work is very much dependent on the weather, so we may need to change the timings depending on the conditions.
“I would ask all road users to be aware of this planned works, avoid the area if possible, but if not please allow extra time for your journey.
“We apologise in advance for any inconvenience the works may cause, but I know local people will see a considerable benefit to the condition of the road when they are complete.”
