New Larkhall Leisure Centre consultation
Published: Tuesday 22 October 2024

Consultation drop-in sessions for the new Larkhall Leisure Centre are to take place next week.
Designs for the £23.9m purpose built, state-of-the-art centre will be available to view and comment.
The designs are based on the findings of a previous consultation in 2022 with the local community, groups, staff and users of the current centre.
The first drop-in session is from 10am to 2pm on Monday 28 October at the Lighthouse in the town’s King Street, with the second session on the same day from 3pm to 7pm at the leisure centre.
Pupils from Larkhall Academy will also have the chance to attend a drop-in session the next day, Tuesday 29 October.
The findings from the drop-in sessions will be used to inform the detailed design process and submissions to planning and building control in spring next year.
Council Leader Joe Fagan said: “The development of the centre is a unique and exciting opportunity to deliver transformational change to revitalise the community of Larkhall.
“One of the most important parts of this project is finding out what local residents and users of the centre think of these proposals, so please take time to drop in and let us know your views.”
The council has been working closely with Hub South West and their sub-contractors BAM Construction and Holmes Miller Architects to develop the concept designs which will maximise the available space for a range of community activities.
