Investing in the future of Housing and Technical Resources
Published: Monday 2 June 2025

At South Lanarkshire Council, we consider our employees to be our most important asset.
We are committed to helping employees to grow professionally through tailored training programmes and by supporting them to pursue recognised qualifications. This provides employees with the knowledge and expertise that they need to excel in their chosen careers and ensures high standards of professionalism throughout Housing and Technical Resources.
Over the last year, a range of employees across the Resource have had the opportunity to complete qualifications from institutions such as the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) and Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQ), as well as obtaining specialist qualifications relevant to their roles.
To reinforce our approach to learning and development, we recently signed up to the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) Professionalism Commitment. This highlights our commitment to continuous learning, promoting professional standards in housing and achieving the highest levels of practice and ethics in everything we do.
We understand that our success is directly linked to the skills, knowledge, confidence and enthusiasm of our employees.
Empowering employees to pursue further learning not only helps to advance careers but also helps to improve the quality of the services we deliver to our customers and communities.
