Networking Event to help challenge poverty
Published: Wednesday 8 October 2025
A Community Networking Event is being held as part of Challenge Poverty Week 2025.
The event is an opportunity for local groups, organisations, and the public to come together, connect, and network.
It takes place at council HQ in Hamilton on Friday 10 October, with people encouraged to drop in any time between noon and 4pm.
The event offers a space to share experiences, ideas, and opportunities, learn more about what’s happening across South Lanarkshire and explore how to make a difference in communities across the area.
Alongside plenty of opportunities to meet others and build connections, the day will also feature a range of drop-in interactive workshops on key topics, including credit unions and local financial support, free period products and tackling period poverty and home energy advice.
Chair of the Community Planning Partnership, Council Leader Joe Fagan, said: “Everyone with an interest is welcome – whether you are part of a group, a volunteer, or simply want to find out more about what’s happening locally.
“It’s an opportunity to find out about some of the support available to people across South Lanarkshire as well as having your say on how we can make our communities stronger.”
For more details and to stay up to date with the programme, please visit the council website or get in touch via email.
