An East Kilbride church has had their appeal to transform their basement space answered – thanks to the Community Wish List.
East Mains Baptist Church appealed to the list for help with their basement renovation project, helping transform it into a hub for many of the local groups who currently use it.
Ailsa Building Construction answered the call and donated £500 to the project.
Office Manager for East Mains Baptist Church, Mary Withers, said: “The Church and the Village Centre Project extend our heartfelt thanks to Ailsa Building Construction for their generous £500 donation, made through the South Lanarkshire Community Wish List.
“We are truly grateful for this incredible support, which will make a meaningful difference to our basement renovation project. This contribution couldn’t have come at a better time, as we continue to raise funds to transform the space into a thoughtfully designed, welcoming hub for the many groups who rely on it.
“Thanks to Ailsa Building Construction’s kindness, we’re one step closer to creating a vibrant and inclusive environment that will serve our community for years to come.”
A spokesperson for Ailsa Building Construction said: “We are delighted to support East Mains Baptist Church’s Basement Project. The project provides a safe space for the community and its valuable work, including addiction support groups and mental health initiatives like the Chit Chat Café.
“We hope the donation will allow the team to upgrade the basement and we will look forward to seeing the transformation.
“We wish East Mains Baptist Church continued success.”
Chair of the council's Finance and Corporate Resources Committee, Councillor Lesley McDonald, said: "This is another great example of the Community Wish List and the benefits it can bring to local communities and organisations.
"I would like to thank all the companies who have so generously donated so far."
