Support available to tackle fuel poverty during the winter
Published: Monday 19 January 2026
The council is highlighting the wide range of services and support available at the start of Energy Savers Week 2026.
Energy Savers Week, which runs from Monday 19 January to Sunday 25 January, aims to help individuals cut their energy bills and get all the financial support they are entitled to.
The purpose of the campaign is to empower households with knowledge on energy efficiency, finding better deals, and accessing support including the Warm Home Discount.
Home Energy Scotland is the Scottish Government’s free, impartial advice service to help people across Scotland save energy, stay warm, and reduce their bills.
Chair of the council’s Housing and Technical Resources Committee, Councillor Davie McLachlan, said: “The week focusses on helping people reduce energy bills, tackle fuel poverty, and find financial support during the coldest time of the year.
“I urge everyone to take advantage of all the advice and support that is out there to make sure their homes stay warm at an affordable cost throughout the cold winter months.”
