Move Your Way January Challenge
Published: Friday 23 January 2026
There’s still time for residents across South Lanarkshire to kick-start their year with the Think, Move, Breathe January Challenge.
Rewards are available for getting active and travelling green this month, whether you’re heading to your local Leisure Centre or simply moving more outdoors.
Walk, wheel, cycle or take public transport to a South Lanarkshire Leisure Centre and earn BetterTickets for every sustainable trip. Each eligible visit gives you entries into weekly prize draws, plus chances to unlock streak and weekend gym bonuses.
There is a Weekly Prize Draw, with 3 x 5,000 BetterPoints (£5 each) 1 x 10,000 BetterPoints and 1 x 25,000 BetterPoints (£25) on offer.
If you’re not a gym person, you can still take part. Walk, wheel, run or cycle anywhere in South Lanarkshire to earn BetterTickets for the weekly prize draws. Log your everyday journeys and active minutes to earn up to 100 BetterPoints per day, plus extra 150 BetterPoints at weekends.
Choose what works for you - gym, park, pavement or paths - and let BetterPoints reward your New Year resolutions in South Lanarkshire.
Get started by downloading the free BetterPoints app, which tracks journeys and awards points based on the distance and mode of travel. These points can be redeemed for vouchers at local businesses, donated to charities, and used to enter prize draws, creating incentives to choose sustainable travel options.
By choosing to walk, cycle, or take the bus or train, you’re not just getting from A to B—you’re creating positive changes which helps reduce pollution, ease traffic congestion, and lower carbon emissions. Together, these actions build greener, safer, and more vibrant communities for everyone now and for future generations.
To find out more and to download the app go to the BetterPoints website.
