Rural Conference set to take place next month
Published: Friday 27 February 2026
Community groups and social enterprises across South Lanarkshire are being invited to the annual Rural Local Communities Conference next month.
The theme of the event this year is Community Capacity Building and is a key networking and knowledge-sharing opportunity, featuring national and local guest speakers.
It takes place from 9:30am to 4:30pm on Wednesday 25 March at Biggar Rugby Football Club in the town.
Local community focussed organisations and social enterprises will share their experiences (and challenges) in their own growth and development journey.
There will also be the opportunity to meet key bodies who specialise in business planning, good governance, best practice management, project development and delivery.
And local and national funders will be available to find out more about how to access funding.
Chair of the council’s Community and Enterprise Resources Committee, Councillor Robert Brown, said: “This annual event is always a highlight, giving the rural community the chance to come together to share and learn from one another’s experiences.
“Please get in touch if you think your organisation would benefit from attending.”
Due to the constraints of the venue the numbers will be capped at 100. Please get in touch quickly to avoid disappointment by email.
