Road in Blantyre to benefit from improvements
Published: Tuesday 7 April 2026
Essential repairs are to take place on a road in Blantyre from next week.
Sydes Brae will be closed from the roundabout at the crematorium to the B758 (on slip for the East Kilbride expressway) from 8am on Monday 13 April to 8pm on Friday 17 April.
No motor vehicles (except those engaged in the work and emergency service vehicles) will be able to drive within the road closure during this time.
Residents who stay within the closure will be contacted with additional arrangements prior to works commencing.
Access to and from the crematorium will be via Newhousemill Road and Parkneuk Road at all times for the duration of the works.
The signed diversion route will be Hillhouse Road, Earnock Road, Newhousemill Road, Parkneuk Road and vice versa.
Head of Roads, Transportation and Fleet Services, Colin Park, said: “We apologise in advance for any inconvenience that may occur during these essential road works.
“We would request that all road users allow additional time for all journeys during the period indicated and that they plan their journey accordingly.
“We are sure road users will appreciate the improvements once the work is complete.”
