Join our roads team at recruitment sessions
Published: Thursday 4 June 2026
Exciting opportunities to join South Lanarkshire Council’s roads teams take place this month.
Drop-in recruitment sessions for roadworkers and chargehands will be held at depots across the area on four separate nights.
Staff from the council’s Roads and Transportation Service will be available for anyone to find out more about opportunities to join the team.
Each event takes place from 6pm to 9pm, with the first at Canderside Depot, 1 Carlisle Road, Larkhall, ML9 2GA on Tuesday 16 June.
The second event, on Wednesday 17 June, is at Hawbank Depot, 18 Hawbank Road, East Kilbride, G74 5HA.
The following week on Wednesday 24 June it’s the turn of Lesmahagow Depot, B7078 Carlisle Road, Lesmahagow, ML11 0DZ.
The final event is on Thursday 25 June at Carnwath Depot, Braehead Road, Carnwath, ML11 8LR.
Head of Roads, Transportation and Fleet Services, Colin Park, said: “I would encourage anyone looking to either start or further their career in roads maintenance to come along to one of our open evenings.
“Each event is a drop-in session – no appointment is needed.
“You will have the opportunity to meet the team, learn about the roles, get information on applying, ask questions and explore career opportunities.”
