Published: Tuesday 9 June 2026
Eligible voters aged 16 and over are being reminded that the deadline for registering to vote in the Larkhall by-election is midnight on Tuesday 23 June.
The Ward 20 by-election has been called following the sad passing of Councillor Lesley McDonald.
If you are already registered to vote and are on the electoral register for the Larkhall Ward in South Lanarkshire, you do not need to re‑register. Poll cards will begin to be sent out in the next couple of weeks.
You can register to vote online quickly and easily if you haven’t already done so.
The deadline for receiving new postal vote and postal proxy applications, and for changes to existing postal or proxy votes, is 5pm on Wednesday 24 June.
The by-election for Ward 20 Larkhall will take place on Thursday 9 July 2026. Polling stations will be open from 7am until 10pm.
The Ward is represented by four councillors and has an electorate of around 15,000 people, with approximately 2,800 registered postal voters.
More details are available on the council website. You can also email the election office or call them on 0303 123 1019.
