How to apply

The earliest you can apply for your 60+ National Entitlement Card (the concessionary bus pass) is two weeks before your 60th birthday.

To be eligible for this travel concession card you simply need to be 60 years old or over, and be a resident of South Lanarkshire.

Application forms for 60+ cards are available from your local Post Office and SPT (Strathclyde Partnership for Transport) Travel Centres. In South Lanarkshire the Travel Centres are located at the bus station in East Kilbride Town Centre and the Bus Station at Brandon Street in Hamilton.

In order to apply you will need to provide:

  • a recent passport-style colour photograph
  • current documentary evidence of your age, (e.g. birth certificate or passport)
  • proof of your current address (e.g. utility bill)

Full details of acceptable types of documentary evidence can be found on the front page of the application form. Once you have completed your application form you should take it, along with the items above, in person to your local Post Office or nearest SPT Travel Centre to be validated.

Once the application has been processed, your concessionary travel card will be posted to you.

If you require clarification on any aspect of the application process, please contact the SPT Travel Card Unit  on 0141 333 3211.
