Building stronger and better communities through community decision making
Springhall and Whitlawburn neighbourhood planning area has been allocated £15,500 from South Lanarkshire Council and the UK Governments Shared Prosperity Fund to support participatory budgeting activity and the delivery of the local Neighbourhood Plan.
We are looking for small to medium community led projects that address at least one of the priority themes within the neighbourhood plan for your area and deliver local ideas that meet the following criteria.
- Build community capacity
- Strengthen the relationships and connections we make with one another.
- Projects that foster a sense of local pride and belonging, such as community infrastructure, local green space, and community-led projects.
- Improvements to community spaces for community groups to use.
- Training programmes that advance the interests and capacity of community members and community groups.
- All activity must be targeted and benefit people living in your neighbourhood planning area.
The funding period is for six months. Projects must be spent by 28 February 2026.
The project must provide added value. Place Based Participatory Budgeting funding cannot be used to replace or supplement mainstream budgets or services.
Funds will be allocated based on the outcome of a public vote.
A grant acceptance form must be signed, and conditions of grant form completed by all successful project leads This formally commits you to spending and reporting on the funds you receive.
The monitoring form should be completed as soon you have spent your Participatory Budgeting funds and delivered your project or by no later than the 28th of February 2026.
