Help if you're homeless or could lose your home

Appeal a housing decision

If you disagree with a decision about your homelessness application or housing offer, you can ask us to review it. This is called an appeal.

You can appeal if:

  • you do not agree with the decision on your homelessness application
  • you are unhappy with the housing offer you received
  • you feel your support needs were not properly considered

How to appeal

You must send your appeal in writing within 21 days. This starts from the date of:

  • your homelessness decision letter
  • your housing offer letter
  • or your application (if no decision has been issued yet)

Email your appeal to homelessness.strategy@southlanarkshire.gov.uk

In your appeal, clearly explain why you disagree and include any new information or evidence that supports your case.

What happens next

We will review your appeal and aim to send you a written decision within 7 days of receiving it.
