Two community councils looking for new members

Nominations are now being sought for anyone wishing to stand for election to the Burnside and Cambuslang Community Councils.
If you think you have what it takes to represent your local community area then please complete this nomination form and email it to communitycouncils@southlanarkshire.gov.uk
Any person on the Register of Electors for either the Burnside or Cambuslang areas who want to be elected onto their Community Council, should lodge the completed, signed nomination form. The form must be signed by the person seeking election and should be counter signed by a proposer and seconder, both of whom should also be on the Register of Electors for this community council area.

Completed forms can also be returned to Finance and Corporate Resources, Administration and Legal Services, Council Offices, Floor 2, Almada Street, Hamilton ML3 0AA no later than 4pm on Wednesday 16 November 2022.
The elections will proceed in terms of South Lanarkshire Council's Scheme for the Establishment of Community Councils.
In the event of more nominations being received than vacancies available, the elections will be held on a date to be determined by the council. All existing members of the Community Council will cease to hold office at midnight on Wednesday 26 October 2022. Notification of any elections will be provided in due course.
