Christmas Memorial Service returns in December
Published: Thursday 17 November 2022
The Christmas Memorial Service will be held again at South Lanarkshire Crematorium on Sunday 4 December 2022.
The event has become a very special occasion for many and offers an opportunity for those who may have experienced bereavement at any time in the past to enjoy the support of others in an atmosphere of seasonal warmth and companionship.
The memorial service itself starts at 2pm at the crematorium. However, families and individuals who wish to remember their loved ones can come along any time between 2-4pm. There will be light refreshments. Cards will also be available for messages to be placed on the Christmas tree and, as has been the tradition in past years, a candle can be lit.
Councillor Robert Brown, the chair of the council’s Community and Enterprise Resources, said: “Our service is a special way to remember loved ones at a time of year when our losses are often felt the most.
“We extend a warm invitation to everyone who feels they could benefit from visiting the crematorium which many find a very dignified, peaceful and personal place to remember their loved ones.
“Our crematorium team will be on hand to offer any support if needed.”
