Council clear-up after storms Isha and Jocelyn
Published: Friday 26 January 2024

Roads and grounds services teams have been working hard to keep residents and businesses safe and mobile this week.
More than 45 roads had to be closed or partially closed due to fallen trees with another 11 roads closed while flooding issues were tackled.
And our grounds teams have been out clearing hundreds of trees from more than 350 sites with more areas not directly affecting traffic flow still to be dealt with.

Councillor Robert Brown, chair of the council’s Community and Enterprise Resources, said: “This week has seen many challenges for council staff as they have had to deal with a wide range of issues as two very powerful storms affected South Lanarkshire Council and Scotland as a whole.
“I would like to thank everyone involved in the clean-up programme for working so very hard in challenging conditions to help ensure that residents and businesses could continue with their daily lives as much as possible.”
