Book a taxi or private hire vehicle test
You can book an inspection for your taxi or private hire vehicle with our Fleet Services. We test over 2,000 vehicles each year to make sure they meet safety and licensing standards.
When and how to book
You can arrange a test between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday. You must pay when you book your appointment.
If you are replacing a vehicle, you need to give at least two working days’ notice so we can process your application. During busy renewal periods, this may take up to three working days. Make sure your test date is after this time.
What you need to know
We carry out annual inspections for all licensed taxi and private hire vehicles, including those with meters.
Booking in advance helps avoid delays and ensures your vehicle stays licensed.
