Our social media accounts
We use social media to share updates about council services, local information and important news. We also use it to listen to you. If you ask us a direct question, we’ll respond as quickly as we can. If you leave a comment about a service, we’ll pass your feedback to the right team.
Our accounts are usually monitored during office hours (Monday to Friday), except on public holidays. During major events or emergencies, we provide extra cover.

Some of our schools also have social media accounts and closed study groups. These are moderated by school staff.

We have two YouTube channels:
- SLYouTube - films and animations about council services, new initiatives and community events
- SL Committees - livestreams and recordings of council committee meetings
Social media rules
To keep our channels safe and respectful, we may remove posts that are:
- abusive, threatening or offensive
- defamatory or unlawful
- obscene or sexual
- irrelevant or spam
- impersonating others
- sharing personal information
- advertising products or services
If necessary, we may block or unfollow accounts that break these rules.
