Allotments and food growing - Strategy 2020 - 2025

Allotments and food growing - Strategy 2020 - 2025 | South Lanarkshire Council
StatusCompleted
Consultation summary and backgroundThe Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015 requires each local authority to prepare a food growing strategy within two years of Part 9 of the Act being enabled on 1 April 2018. The strategy will outline opportunities to increase food growing provision and outline how we will identify available land to develop allotment sites and land suitable for alternative food growing purposes such as raised beds, community growing or unserviced plots.
Why are we consulting?Whilst the consultative draft has been developed in accordance with the legislative requirements outlined in the 2015 Act and includes mandatory elements set by Scottish Government, we are seeking your views on our approach to meeting our legal obligations. If you are interested in commenting on the proposed strategy and action plan, please read the draft strategy and then provide your feedback in the survey.
