About usLDVG ‘s aim is to reduce physical and social isolation and increase health and wellbeing for adults in Lanarkshire, by providing a range of inclusive and accessible services and activities. We currently have approximately 360 members and 96 volunteers. Services and activities include a Monday to Friday call line, 6 lunch clubs, Free Handy person Service, Activity Groups such as IT, genealogy, walking group, gardening group, Thursday night social group, craft group, armed forces community group, sporting memories, and strength and balance exercise classes. We provide community transport with 5 minibuses (2 electric, 3 low emissions) covering lunch club transport, activity group transport, shopping services, outings and trips for our members and community groups. We also have a volunteer community Car, facilitating attendance at non-emergency NHS appointments using our electric pool car. Lastly we host a community fridge and café: targeting food waste and sharing excess produce with the community. We work closely with partners to maximize the impact of our resources and keep us abreast of the changing needs of the community and encourage collaborative solutions
Our WishGarden Plants – We’re looking for a variety of plants for the raised beds in our community facility garden. This space means a lot to the people who use it — it’s a peaceful, relaxing place where community members can sit, enjoy some nature, and take a moment of solace, whether they’re attending groups or our lunch clubs. To keep the garden looking welcoming, we’re hoping for a donation of plants or a contribution towards buying plants, so our volunteers can get started on the seasonal planting. This will help us make sure the garden continues to be a calming, enjoyable place for everyone who visits. Thank you for considering supporting this space that brings so much comfort to our community.
