Free period products in South Lanarkshire

Everyone should have access to safe, reliable period products when they need them. Thanks to Scottish Government funding, we provide free sanitary products across South Lanarkshire, with options to collect in person or request items online if you cannot get to a collection point.
We’ve partnered with Hey Girls, a social enterprise that provides high-quality, environmentally friendly products. Anyone who needs period products can access them, regardless of income or personal circumstances.
How to get free period products
Collect in person
You can pick up pads and tampons from public buildings, libraries, leisure centres, and community organisations across South Lanarkshire. Local libraries also have reusable products.

About the products
You can choose from reusable pads, menstrual cups, disposable pads and tampons.
Reusable pads
Reusable products are popular and good for the environment.
Reusable pads are made from soft, sustainable bamboo and organic cotton. They come in a pack of five (1 panty liner, 2 day pads and 2 night pads) and can last up to five years with proper care.
Menstrual cups
Hey Girls cups are medical‑grade silicone, soft, flexible and free of latex, BPA and dioxins.
As a general guide:
- Small cup: if you are 25 or under, or have not given birth vaginally
- Large cup: if you are over 25 or have given birth vaginally
If you have an IUD or contraceptive coil, please speak to your GP first.
Disposable pads and tampons
Pads are made from natural bamboo and corn fibre. Tampons are 100% organic cotton and free from plastics, chlorine and added chemicals.
If using menstrual cups or tampons, please be aware of Toxic Shock Syndrome.
