Budget consultation
South Lanarkshire Council has been working to set its budget for 2024/25.
This work has been done at a time when local residents depend on our services more than ever, but our real-term funding has reduced substantially in recent years – we have had to find savings of more than £150 million over the last decade. The budget gap for 2024/25 alone is more than £20m.
Every year during the budget process we ask our residents for their views, so we can share them with the councillors who will make the final decisions.
Following an initial consultation four months ago, in December 2023 and January 2024 we asked people to give us their views on a number of specific saving options.
The results can be found in the Budget consultation feedback report.
