South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture SCIO
Leisure, culture and community services for South Lanarkshire
South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture (SLLC) SCIO runs many of the leisure, culture and community facilities used by people across South Lanarkshire.
SLLC manages services on our behalf, including leisure centres, sports facilities, halls, libraries, country parks, museums and arts services. These services support health, wellbeing, learning and community life for people of all ages.
SLLC is a charity and works to make sure local services are welcoming, accessible and affordable.
What South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture does
SLLC provides and supports facilities and activities that help people:
- stay active and healthy
- enjoy sport, recreation and exercise
- take part in cultural, social and creative activities
- use libraries and learning resources
- enjoy parks, outdoor spaces and heritage sites
These services are provided across South Lanarkshire to benefit local communities.
Supporting people who need extra help
A key focus of SLLC is making sure services are inclusive. This includes providing extra support or facilities for people who may face barriers to taking part, such as:
- children and young people
- older people
- people with disabilities or long‑term health conditions
- people on low incomes or facing social or economic disadvantage
This helps ensure everyone can take part in leisure, cultural and community life.
How SLLC is run
SLLC is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO). It has a board that oversees how services are managed, including representatives nominated by us.
As a charity, SLLC reinvests money back into services to improve facilities, activities and outcomes for local people.
