Have your say on our draft housing domestic abuse policy

We want your views on our draft housing domestic abuse policy. This policy explains how we support people who have been affected by domestic abuse and need help with housing or housing support. Your feedback will help us make sure the policy is clear, fair and meets the needs of residents across South Lanarkshire.

You can read the draft policy and complete a short survey. The consultation is open for 12 weeks, from 23 March 2026 until 15 June 2026.

What the policy does

Our draft policy sets out how we:

  • help you find safe and suitable housing if you have experienced domestic abuse
  • offer housing support to help you stay safe and rebuild your life
  • work with local services so you can get the help you need as quickly as possible

  • make the information easier to understand
  • check the support we offer is helpful and accessible
  • improve how we respond to people affected by domestic abuse

What happens next

Once the consultation closes, we will review all feedback and update the policy. We will then publish the final version on our website.
