Review of taxi fares

Notice is given that South Lanarkshire Council as Licensing Authority in respect of the licensing of taxis for the Cambuslang and Rutherglen zone of South Lanarkshire have, in terms of Section 17 of the Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982 (as amended), approved a review of the current fares tariff for taxis and have agreed not to alter the scales and charges chargeable by taxi drivers in the Cambuslang and Rutherglen zone as follows:-

Hire of Taxi/Private Hire Car (fitted with a taxi meter) -

• Not exceeding 880 yards £3.90
• For the next NINE additional 293 yards or any part 30 pence
• Thereafter each additional 264 yards or any part 20 pence - (an average 2 mile hire of £6.60)

A copy of the reviewed fares tariff for the Cambuslang and Rutherglen zone is available, without payment of fee, on request by emailing licensing@southlanarkshire.gov.uk or phone 01698 717728.

The reviewed fares tariff comes into operation on 4 August 2023.
