Payment is required when you submit the form, so please have your card details ready.

We aim to process requests within 10 working days once we receive your application and payment.

What you can request

You can ask for copies of:

  • building warrants
  • completion certificates
  • approved plans and drawings

These records can help if you are buying or selling a property, checking past work, or planning new work.

Important things to know before you apply

  • records are usually only kept for 25 years. This means we may not be able to provide information on older work
  • documents are only available to an interested party, such as an owner, occupier, tenant, or someone planning to buy or rent the property
  • some information may have viewing or copying restrictions, for example, where there are security concerns
  • fees are non‑refundable, even if the information cannot be found
  • if key documents are missing, you may need to apply for a letter of comfort. This is a separate application and charge
  • copies of older letters of comfort are not available. A new application may be required
