Free bus travel in Scotland

Concessionary travel for disabled people

If you live in Scotland and have a qualifying disability, you may be able to apply for a National Entitlement Card. This card gives you free bus travel and discounted travel on trains and the subway.

You can travel for free on local bus services and most scheduled coach services at any time. You may also get reduced fares on trains and the Glasgow Subway within the Strathclyde area.

Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) manages the card and application process.

Who can apply

You can apply if:

  • you live in Scotland
  • you are aged 5 or over
  • you meet the disability eligibility criteria
