Service AreaCommunity and Enterprise
Aims and ObjectivesThe South Lanarkshire Local Plan Community Facilities Policies set out the land use planning requirements in relation to the provision of community facilities such as schools, sports centres, community halls and sports pitches. The policies' objectives are
- Protect and where possible enhance educational and other community facilities.
- Ensure that all residents have reasonable access to educational and community facilities.
- Ensure that a transparent mechanism is in place which ensures developers contribute towards the provision and maintenance of community benefits.

ConclusionThe conclusion of this initial impact assessment is that there are no adverse impacts on any part of the community covered by equalities legislation, or on community relations. This is due to the nature of the Community Facilities policies which identify the land use planning requirements in relation to the provision of new developments. Detailed design requirements for new developments are addressed in other policies within the Local Plan. Consultation on all Local Plan policies is undertaken in accordance with the requirements of the Town and Country Planning legislation
