Aims and ObjectivesThe South Lanarkshire Local Plan Flooding & SUDS Policy sets out the Council's requirements to ensure that new development in South Lanarkshire is not at risk of being affected by flooding, or might increase flood risk elsewhere. The policies' objectives are:
-Ensure that any new developments will not have a significant probability of being adversely affected by flooding.
-Ensure that new developments will not increase the probability of flooding elsewhere.

ConclusionThe conclusion of this initial impact assessment is that there are no adverse impacts on any part of the community covered by equalities legislation, or on community relations. This is due to the nature of the flooding and sustainable urban drainanage policies which relate to the requirement for new developments to minimise the risk of flooding. Consultation on all Local Plan policies is undertaken in accordance with the requirements of the Town and Country Planning legislation
