SWR04 - Financial Savings 2019-20 - In-House Care and Support Services

SWR04 - Financial Savings 2019-20 - In-House Care and Support Services | South Lanarkshire Council
TitleSWR04 - Financial Savings 2019-20 - In-House Care and Support Services
Council ResourceSocial Work
Service AreaSocial Work
Aims and ObjectivesThe Care and Support Service supports adults with learning disabilities and a range of complex needs to stay in their own home, as independently as possible, so they can remain valued members of their communities. This is done in a number of ways including providing personal care and domestic support. Following profiling of the needs of service users, the number of service users has reduced to 39. This saving reflects a reduction for 4 service users - 2 of which are no longer required and 2 where there have been agreed changes to care packages. As a result of the current demand for In House Care and Support Services, a saving of £0.260m can be realised.
Conclusion"The conclusion of this assessment therefore is that there is likely to be no impact on service users with the protected characteristic of age and disability as individuals affected by the re-design of the service will continue to receive a service based on need with their individual circumstances taken into account.

Where there may be some impact which is proportionally greater on female staff due to the gender make up of the workforce, individuals have been protected by the collective bargaining agreement."
