| Aims and Objectives | The aim and objective of this policy is to consider the reduction and removal of payments to third sector providers where the services are covered by alternative funding this includes payments to NHS Lanarkshire and VasLan. Child and family service are undertaking a redesign of the services it provides to children and young people where statutory measures apply and require to target it's services to those most in need within our communities. Reductions in payments to organisations which facilitate support programmes for children is proposed, with access to services for social work service users being driven through Self Directed Support payments, which offers more choice and flexibility for families. Through this proposal the service will reduce the duplication of services whilst increasing the options to those children and young person's most in need and create more growth and development of independent services by the third sector. |
| Conclusion | The policy will have a negative effect on children and young people aged between 7 years and 18 years. The impact of the change will reduce the opportunity attend social interaction for those children with a low level additional support needs. Social work services requires to redesign its services to ensure that the services supported by them target those most in need within the communities of South Lanarkshire. Access to services for social work service users are being driven through Self Directed Support payments, which offers more choice and flexibility for families.
