| Aims and Objectives | Each year, the Community Safety Partnership (CSP) supports the delivery of various community safety initiatives and projects, linking to the priorities of the Partnership. The proposal will reduce the level of funding currently used to support Community Safety Initiatives. It would remove funding from partners that could potentially be sought from other sources. All consultation and bids from Community Safety partners and third sector organisations will cease this year in line with the removal of this funding. The current budget is £0.101m and the saving would reduce this by 45%. |
| Conclusion | The proposed saving can be progressed without having a significant adverse impact upon any specific group of individuals or on community safety more generally in South Lanarkshire. The impact of the reduction in budget will be monitored by community safety partners who will also continue to consider the availability of alternative funding / resourcing opportunities. Approved at the Council meeting on 21 February 2024. |
