| Aims and Objectives | It is proposed that, in the current financial climate, the budget provision for Council employees to attend conferences which are relevant to the business need, be reduced by 50%. |
| Conclusion | As part of the Council's budget savings exercise, it is proposed to reduce the budget allocated to staff attending conferences. Individual learning and development is identified through the Personal Development Review process to meet the business need. Required training will continue to be offered on a needs basis, although the budget provision for this will be reduced. The impact assessment has established that, while individuals may have different needs in relation to this proposal, for example, the training required, transportation, training materials or communication requirements, these will continue to be taken into account. It is therefore concluded that the implementation of this proposal will not have any significant impact on any equality group. |
