HTR08 Financial Savings 2019-20 - Provision of Anti-Social Behaviour Service

HTR08 Financial Savings 2019-20 - Provision of Anti-Social Behaviour Service | South Lanarkshire Council
TitleHTR08 Financial Savings 2019-20 - Provision of Anti-Social Behaviour Service
Council ResourceHousing and Technical
Service AreaHousing
Aims and ObjectivesThe proposal is to consider the prioritisation of the services of the central Anti-Social Behaviour Service, which includes the Community Wardens, Anti-Social Investigation Team and Mediation. Through consideration of tasks completed by the central Anti-Social Behaviour Service, which includes the Community Wardens, Anti-Social Investigation Team and Mediation, a saving of £0.035m can be realised. Although timescales will be affected, all service requests assessed as requiring action will still be completed, either by the Anti-Social Behaviour Service or through partner agencies. This will result in the reduction of 3 FTE Community Warden posts which will be achieved through a combination of natural turnover and redeployment. The reduction in employees will have an impact on the frequency of patrols being carried out, and will also affect the response times for the Investigative Support Team reacting to incidents.
Conclusion"The proposal is to consider the prioritisation of the services of the central Anti-Social Behaviour Service, which includes the Community Wardens, Anti-Social Investigation Team and Mediation.

Whilst directly relevant to the Council's equality duties, the proposal involves a reduction rather than removal of service. The impact of this is anticipated to be minimal and achieved through more effective management of the remaining resources.

It is not anticipated that the proposals will have a significant impact on any particular equality group. The service manager will be responsible for ensuring that the workload of the team is effectively manged and that situations involving vulnerable individuals or groups are given priority.

The impact will be monitored against the ASB strategic and operational monitoring framework."
