| Aims and Objectives | The aim of this assessment is to consider, as part of the Trust's savings exercise, the impact of the proposal to expand the activities at the EK Summerfest event. Summer Fest is a free Arts Festival Weekend that takes place on an annual basis in the building and grounds of East Kilbride Arts Centre, the festival is especially aimed at families and includes fun activities for the whole family. Previous activities have included storytelling, arts and crafts fair, street theatre, workshops, skate ramp and performances these will remain free. By including additional fun fair rides, street vendors and activities, there is the potential to realise additional income of £0.003m. |
| Conclusion | Expanding the activities available at the EK Summerfest event will provide additional choice and the potential to realise additional income of £0.003m. Although the introduction of additional activities will generate additional income and be a positive change for visitors it should be recognised that There is the potential that people of all ages, those living with disabilities and all genders, who attend the Summerfest activities may be affected by the changes in provision due the charging and that some of the rides might not be suitable for people with disabilities. The majority of people will benefit in a positive way as the increased provision will enhance the free activities that will continue. Monitoring of the changes will be done through customer comments as well as attendance figures. Performance monitoring arrangements for all activities are in place and will continue. |
